Finding australia’s next generation of lamb leaders
Bridging the city-country divide and increasing awareness and communication of the ethical and sustainable methods of Australia’s sheep and lamb producers is essential for the industry’s strong future.
Research conducted by Meat & Livestock Australia shows that only about one in five* meat eaters have a good understanding of the Australian red meat industry and almost 20%* fewer city-based Australians visit livestock farms annually compared to eight years ago.
LambEx wants to hear YOUR vision on how to connect the Australian sheep and lamb industry with city consumers.
2020 LambEx Young Guns may be on-farm, working in agriculture or agribusiness, studying and/or passionate about a strong future for Australia’s lamb and sheep industry with the ability to clearly and creatively address the pitch. Ages 18 to 35 years and under are eligible to apply.
Six finalists selected from Round One will continue through to Round Two held during LambEx 2020. Finalists will be provided opportunities to develop their communication and presentation skills; increase their industry contacts; and participate in a mentoring program during the event days. Finalists will also be offered a complimentary conference ticket and a travel allowance.
